Change your job!

jobOur job has a major part of defining our lives. My instant reaction to reading this would be – no way! I hate the idea, but let us be honest with ourselves. We spend 8 hours a day doing it. We spend on average near to 2 hours getting there and back. We spend time in the morning getting ready for it, we spend time getting out of our work attire… and after all that, when you think you’re safe sitting at the dinner table with non work people, you find yourself talking about it! “How was work today?”

So lets just admit it – our work and job defines our lives. So when we decide we want to make a big change in our lives, we have a choice between following the example set by our celecrities and doing some thing that is actually going to have a positive effect on our lives. Personally, I’d rather not randomly have cosmetic surgery, I’m beautiful enough as it is without the face lift. So I would opt for the latter, and in my case the most obvious thing to do is change your place of work. Even more, change the nature of your work.

Most people when asked, so not enjoy their jobs, they do not enjoy their work. So when making a change, think carefully about what you would actually like to do. What line of work would you find interesting? What would give you a sense of fulfilment? Most people end up in jobs by happen chance. They leave college, and like kids with loads of energy they just grasp around for something till they find a temporary job. This then leads onto something a bit more permanent and suddenly a few years have gone by. So if you are reconsidering your position, do so carefully and well. You have just reached a unique position right now, many people never rethink their jobs. So whilst you have the courage, choose a profession that you would actually like to do, and peruse it.

Istand live in the south end I am proud to do so. I would never move out of this area. My job, my family and all my friends are now in this area. I am firmly embedded here, with deep roots that actually extend back by several generations. My friends from north of the river may call me a southern softie, if that’s what I am, I am proud to be so.

As an aware member of my community, I do my best to buy locally to support the local business in my area and to put money back into my local mini economy. However, in the run up to a exhibition that I am attending, when trying to buy some roller banners, I found it impossible to be able to find a local supplier that could help me at a reasonable cost.
